The Bahamas occupy a place of their own in the calendar: the islands host only a handful of events a year, but they are among the richest of the season. Everything happens in Nassau, on New Providence, in the resort complexes along Cable Beach and Paradise Island.
The traditional window is winter, when the European circuit pauses: WSOP Paradise is held in December and puts bracelets — not rings — in play, on events carrying some of the highest guarantees of the year. The destination format is fully embraced, with programmes spread over two weeks.
Buy-ins are quoted in US dollars, which circulate freely at par with the Bahamian dollar.
